This is a hamlet or section of Arcugnano which is located about 10 km from Vicenza. First mentions of Arcugnano and Lapio date back to XII century, when Pope Innocenzo III allowed the privilege of the parish houses of the area to the priests of the cathedral. The destiny of Lapio depended from Arcugnano destiny, both under the Venetian and Napoleonic domination. The village offers the visitor a panorama unparalleled in beauty and enchantment. Everything around the Berici Mounts, extremely lush on this slope, gives exceptionally soft features to the landscape with many small inhabited communities and wide stretches of cultivated fields in the centre of the valley. An active centre of poetry and tourism, surrounded by villas, parks and gardens. Villa Pasini-Salasco erected by Bertotti-Scamozzi and already occupied by Franceschini in 1770, is a must visit. It is located in an enchanting position, dominating two valleys.
From the municipality of Lapio one overlooks Lake Fimon, the only lake in the Province of Vicenza, alive with plants and animals. One can take easy walks along the paths that surround it, on foot or by bicycle.© 2006 - 2012 - Trattoria Zamboni - All rights reserved - p.i. 01660810241
